My Daddy Taught Me That

My Daddy Taught Me That (MDTMT) is a nonprofit dedicated to mentoring middle and high school boys in the Greater Asheville area. Since 2012, we have partnered with local schools, housing communities, juvenile courts, faith groups, and social service agencies to provide young men with the guidance, encouragement, and resources they need to succeed.

Through MDTMT, boys develop strong life skills, build positive friendships, and learn to make responsible choices. Our program fosters leadership, character development, and academic achievement while exposing young men to career opportunities and life experiences that broaden their perspectives. We also encourage teamwork and healthy competition through athletics and recreational activities.

For younger boys, My Daddy Taught Me That Jr. offers mentorship and support to elementary school-aged youth, ensuring they start their journey with a strong foundation.

At MDTMT, we believe in empowering, educating, and uplifting young males to grow into righteous, respectable, and responsible men. More than just a mentorship program, we are a brotherhood—providing guidance, encouragement, and a pathway to a brighter future.
