My Sistah Taught Me That (MSTMT) is a mentorship program dedicated to empowering middle and high school girls in Asheville and Buncombe County. Since 2016, we have partnered with local schools, housing communities, juvenile courts, faith groups, and social service agencies to provide young women with the support and guidance they need to thrive.

Through MSTMT, girls build lasting friendships, gain confidence, and develop essential life skills that help them make responsible choices. Our program offers academic enrichment, creative arts opportunities, and career exposure to broaden their horizons. We also encourage healthy lifestyles through team and individual sports, including track and field and basketball.

Beyond mentorship, we create a safe and supportive space where young women can share their experiences, learn from positive role models, and access resources that help them navigate challenges. MSTMT is more than a program—it’s a sisterhood that uplifts, inspires, and prepares girls for a bright and successful future.
